The Deadlee Maardars Men’s Group
The Redcliffe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island community now has its own Men’s Group. It was formed at the Redcliffe High School in October 2008, auspiced by the Mereki Community Association Inc.
The group is called 'Deadlee Maardars Men’s Group' and aims to provide a friendly atmosphere of men caring for and supporting men and may be of value to patients who have chronic disease, social isolation, mental health, or substance misuse problems.
Meetings
Their meetings are held at 7pm fortnightly on a Wednesday. The Redcliffe Community Association in Lamington Drive, Redcliffe have kindly donated an area that is arranged as a 'Yarning Circle' around a fireplace. If the weather does not permit the fire, a room upstairs at the centre is utilised. A gold coin donation is requested.
